Blakedown Landscapes (SE) Ltd Scoops Two Major National Awards
Blakedown Landscapes (SE) Ltd of Hampton, Middlesex has
emerged victorious at this year's premier competition to find
the UK's finest landscaping companies. At the 27th
British Association of Landscape Industries' (BALI) National
Landscape Awards ceremony, held at the London Marriott Hotel,
Grosvenor Square on Friday 14th November 2003, the
company was presented with two National Awards.
The Regeneration Award, sponsored
by ING Lease, was presented for work carried out on a project
at Charles Rowan House, Islington, London. A project the judges
described as "An excellent hard landscape solution to a
housing complex. It is encouraging householders to respect and
value their environment".
The prestigious Special Project
Award, sponsored by The British Horticultural Trials & Research
Trust, was won for the construction of the "Gardens of
Peace" Muslim Cemetery, Hainault, Essex. Commenting on
this scheme one judge said, "Blakedown Landscapes (SE)
Ltd has worked with the community bringing in and sharing expertise
in this pioneering project".
Now the largest Landscape Awards
in Europe, the BALI National Landscape Awards are designed
to showcase the high levels of professionalism, skill and
achievement attained in the landscaping sector each year.
Independently adjudicated by a panel of leading experts in
landscaping, this year's awards attracted entries from 120
schemes, both national and international, covering all aspects
of interior and exterior landscaping. The main sponsors of
the event were Marshall's plc and 500 guests attended the
ceremony, a testament to the credibility of this rapidly expanding
industry.
