Gardens of Peace is
the largest Muslim Cemetery in Europe with space for over 10,000 graves
set over 21.5 acres of freehold land.
The First Phase Development accomplished:
- Site acquisition
- Installing fencing and CCTV systems for security
- A building to provide salaat, wudhu and toilet facilities
- A car park for 76 cars, plus provision for disabled parking
and coaches
- Boundary planting to provide privacy and to comply with
planning conditions; and
- Preparation of sufficient land for about 1,000 graves
This all cost over £1m and was funded by Lillah Donations
as well as Qard-al-Hasanah (interest free loans) of more
than £600,000.
The Second Phase Development started in 2006 and covered:
- Clearing and levelling more land for burials as shown in the above diagram
- Extending existing paths to create access to the new burial
plots
- Building access roads for the Janãzah and the plant
and equipment needed for burial and to maintain the Cemetery
to an excellent standard
- Trees and other planting to add to the peaceful garden
setting of the Cemetery; and
- Provision of water and electricity
We still have Qard-al-Hasanah outstanding for work carried out on this Second Phase. Please help us to repay this through
Lillah Donations.
You can do this at the Cemetery or by post.
You can also make secure Lillah Donations online.
